Where The Wild Things Are by author and artist Maurice Sendak tells the story of a young boy, Max whose imagination takes him on a journey to the land of the Wild Things.  The book was originally published in 1963, having been read by millions of children since, including myself.  The film adaptation looks to be suitably Jim Henson-esque in its use of actors in costumes, with CGI used to animate the Wild Things faces.  It’s hard not to feel nostalgic seeing these characters so engrained in my childhood come to life.  If anyone can make a great film out of this, Spike Jonze is the one to do it.

I read somewhere that cgi wasn’t used, I was fortunate to see a screening and thought it was good. I say that because I didn’t read the book, and was in shock that it had some disturbing elements. Then its been two weeks and now I think it was great, and has a much deeper meaning than I thought before. I actually am looking forward to seeing it again!
