The film will be an origin story set during the Second World War. We’ll get to see Steve Rogers transform from a scrawny draftee into the ultimate allied soldier, thanks to the aptly named Super Soldier serum. The newly minted Captain America will be pitted against the worst of the Third Reich, including his legendary nemesis The Red Skull, played by Hugo Weaving (The Matrix, The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert).

    1. Required fields are -not- marked or no fields are actually required.

    2. That woman ‘tests’ the shield to see if it works without knowing for sure it would work. If it hadn’t worked she could have easily gravely injured our hero or killed him outright. What in the name of sweet mother mary are these women thinking?!

This looks pretty good to me, and I’ll definitely go see it, but I’m still not 100% on the tone of this movie. I guess when I heard it would be set in World War II I had unrealistic visions of ‘Band of Brothers’ with Captain America running around in the middle. Also, is it just me or does all the military hardware have a distinctly modern look for being set in the 1940′s?
