AMC has just released the trailer for their new zombie-apocalypse TV series The Walking Dead which debuted at San Diego Comic Con last month. The series is being run by writer/director Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption, The Mist) and Gale Anne Hurd, the producer of Aliens and The Terminator. The Walking Dead is based on the ongoing comic book series of the same name created by Robert Kirkman.

This show has a lot of potential—as the trailer aptly demonstrates. Darabont and Hurd’s involvement means that the final product will likely be of a very high quality. AMC has consistently delivered excellent TV with Mad Men and Breaking Bad; Here’s hoping The Walking Dead follows suit. The 90-minute pilot episode, directed by Darabont,  premieres on Halloween night, Sunday, Oct. 31 at 10PM.
