Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP Trailer & Release Date

February 26, 2011

Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP

The highly anticipated indie game experiment Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP just got a new trailer and a release date. Well, sort of. The mysterious “Audience Calibration Procedure” embedded below doesn’t contain an exact release date per se, but it does stress the significance of the Vernal Equinox – the first day of Spring.

So what do we know about S:S&S? We previously described the game as “an unlikely mix of Zelda and art house cinema“; a game that melds exploration and emotion with the unique capabilities of Apple’s iDevices. The project is a collaboration between Toronto developers Capybara Games, artist/illustrator superbrothers and acclaimed musician Jim Guthrie. Capy already have a stellar reputation with the excellent Critter Crunch and Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes under their belts. The involvement of Guthrie and superbrothers makes Sword & Sworcery an exciting convergence of Canadian talent.

Watch the S:S&S EP trailer below.

Those of us who have written about the game on the site have made no secret about our desire to play, or perhaps more aptly, to experience Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP. Our calendars are marked for the first day of Spring, and our touchtronic devices eagerly await its arrival.
