Green Lantern: Emerald Knights Trailer Hits

February 23, 2011

Green Lantern: Emerald Knights
The first trailer for the DC universe animated film Green Lantern: Emerald Knights debuted today. Emerald Knights is an anthology of short animated films, in the same vein as the Batman: Gotham Knight film that coincided with the release of The Dark Knight. Similarly, this film will be released in the weeks leading up to the live action Green Lantern film on June 17th.

Emerald Knights focuses on the exploits of the Green Lantern Corps, the power ring wielding protectors of the universe. Slight consolation here for Nathan Fillion fans — the Firefly actor was a favourite to play Hal Jordan in Martin Campbell’s upcoming film — Fillion plays Jordan in this animated tale. The film also features Elizabeth Moss (Mad Men), Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter series) and in what could be the most awesome bit of casting ever, Henry Rollins as Kilowog.

Watch the trailer below.

If this film is on par with Green Lantern: First Flight or the other excellent animated films coming out of the Warner Bros. Animation Studio then we’re in for a treat.

Green Lantern: Emerald Knights will be available on June 7th, 2001
